Steve Backley OBE and Roger Black MBE (British Olympic Greats)

Steve Backley and Roger Black are two of Great Britain’s most successful Olympic athletes. They are also both property investors and founders of The Real Agency Club. 

Steve established himself as one of the all-time greats of his sport having been ranked in the Worlds top ten in the Javelin every year between 1989 and 2002.He is the only British track and field athlete to win individual medals at three consecutive Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992,Atlanta1996 and Sydney 2000.Throughout his career he became the Worlds  number one Javelin thrower having broken the World Record three times and was crowned World Athlete of the year in 1990.

Roger won fifteen major championship medals at 400m and 4x400m relay including European, Commonwealth and World Championship gold medals. His greatest achievements were winning the Olympic 400m silver medal in Atlanta in 1996 and World Championship gold medals in the 4x400m relay in 1991 and 1997.

Steve and Roger are particularly admired for overcoming several setbacks and injuries throughout their careers. In 2008 they joined forces as partners at BackleyBlack to deliver motivational presentations and performance workshops throughout the world sharing the lessons they learnt as athletes with one simple mission:

“To transfer Olympic Performance into the workplace”
